Vegas Recap

Last week I headed down south to Las Vegas for WPPI - a huge photography convention/photo nerd gathering! I drove down with Keala and we were so lucky to be able to stay with Jordi and her family.  We had such a blast nerding out over photo gear at the convention and took some awesome classes throughout the week. We also got to meet a few of our favorite photographers from all over the country, ate some really great food, danced the night away at an exclusive night club, and had some crazy Chinese men message our butts at a foot spa!  Let's just say, I will definitely be going back next year!

Crazy Zoo Day

It was a wonderfully warm wednesday afternoon and Mike had the day off, so we decided to try and brave the "Free Zoo Day" at Utah's Hogle Zoo.  Our friends Mary and Colton Kynaston went earlier in the afternoon and warned us about the craziness over lunch at this amazing Vietnamese Sandwich shop.  After lunch we headed on over and this pic above ^ was the most mellow part of the whole zoo. Crazy stroller racing moms were flying from one exhibit to the other trying to push their way to the front so their kids could catch a glimpse of the animals.  Seriously though, it was nuts!  But, Kru had fun and we got some cute pics from it.

It's a good thing Mike doesn't look at this blog, he would kill me for posting this photo! Haha

The only animals that came out to say hi were the tiger and the elephants.  Kru loved this big "Kitty".

Valentine's Day & Fishies

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays!  It's also special to me because Mike and I had our first kiss on Valentine's night four years ago (I know, I know… SUPER cheesy!!).  This year Mike surprised me with my favorite breakfast from Kneaders and "Hawaiian Roses", along with the crazy cat card haha.  We kept it pretty low-key this year and grilled up some steaks and bacon wrapped asparagus.  I attempted to make Mike a cute Be Mine card and we both practiced our "Smoulder Looks".  We also got Kru his first Pet(s)!

… I think he likes them.  Plus we've successfully kept them alive for two weeks - Yay!

Pittock Mansion and Downtown

We had such a great time visiting with family and exploring more of Portland on our trip.  If you've never been to Portland before I highly suggest that you put it on your bucket list.  Every year we try to go see things that we hadn't the year before.  Here's a few things we did:

They had free tours at the Pittock Mansion the week we were there.  We had been here once before but it was so fun to go through it again!

There's a great view overlooking Portland from the grounds of the Pittock Mansion.

Kru slept through the whole tour and woke up right when we were leaving.

The mansion totally has a "Clue/Murder Mystery" feel about it.  I'm surprised they haven't filmed a scary movie here yet!

Kru loves getting kisses from his aunt Carly.

We spent an evening down by the river and Kru loved running up and down this little ramp.
